A polite reminder on this Friday – the Food and Drug Administration requires all food facilities (this includes wineries, distilleries and breweries) to renew their registration every two years (in each even numbered year).

You can read about the renewal process and obtain information on the renewal here at the FDA’s website.

Also, here’s a handy guide from the FDA to help you through the renewal/registration process.

The renewal period has begun and runs through December 31, 2018. Even if you’ve just recently registered, you’re required to renew. The failure to renew your facility with the FDA means that your registration will expire and the FDA will remove you and you’ll need to re-register.

If you’re looking to dive in – here’s the link to the FDA registration: https://www.access.fda.gov/

This is all the more relevant as industry publications like Wines & Vines have reported that the FDA has started making inspections.

Also, since it’s never too late to start planning, the 2020 renewal period will require you to obtain a DUNS or similar number a a facility identifier. If you’re looking to get that process started – you can begin here: https://www.dnb.com/duns-number/get-a-duns.html
