Breweries, wineries, and distilleries: it is time to renew your FDA Food Facility Registration (or register if you’ve overlooked this important requirement) by December 31, 2018.

A polite reminder on this Friday – the Food and Drug Administration requires all food facilities (this includes wineries, distilleries and breweries) to renew their registration every two years (in each even numbered year).

The renewal period has begun and runs through December 31, 2018. Even if you’ve just recently registered, you’re required to renew. The failure to renew your facility with the FDA means that your registration will expire and the FDA will remove you and you’ll need to re-register.

This is all the more relevant as industry publications like Wines & Vines have reported that the FDA has started making inspections.
